Two-Vehicle Crash near South Tarke Road Left Three People Hospitalized
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (February 29, 2024) – Thursday morning, a school bus accident on Highway 20 involving another vehicle sent at least three people to a hospital.
The CHP responded to the collision around 7:30 a.m. at the T-intersection of Highway 20 and South Tarke Road, east of Meridian.
According to the report, a Meridian Elementary School District school bus carrying 19 students collided with an eastbound 2014 Ford Fusion.
Due to the fog, the investigators said the school bus driver failed to see other vehicles approaching in both directions of the highway, according to reports.
Responding medical personnel transported an 11-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy from the school bus to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital. Both students and the 29-year-old Colusa man driving the Ford Fusion sustained minor injuries from the crash.
