30-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near George Smith Road
YOKUTS VALLEY, CA (February 27, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, Victor Soto Orocio was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 180.
First responders arrived to the scene around 5:30 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway just west of George Smith Road.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox veered into oncoming traffic. As a result, the Chevy collided head-on with a westbound 2017 Toyota Tundra.
Responding emergency personnel declared the Chevrolet driver dead at the scene. Officials identified the driver as 30-year-old Orocio, from Sanger.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two occupants from inside the Toyota to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the incident. Anyone with additional information about the fatal Highway 180 head-on crash is encouraged to contact Fresno County Officials immediately.
