44-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Tow-Truck Accident near Cedar Ridge Drive

DUNCANVILLE, TX (February 20, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, Oscar Merchan Contreras was killed in a tow-truck accident on Interstate 20.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:00 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Cedar Ridge Drive on February 7th.

Per reports, the driver of a FedEx truck hit a flatbed tow-truck that was towing a vehicle. In addition, a white sedan and a pickup-truck became involved.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 44-year-old Contreras dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported another victim to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, via CareFlite.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
