22-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Off-Road Accident near California Avenue
FRESNO, CA (February 20, 2024) – Late Wednesday evening, Esperanza Nunez was killed in a UTV collision on Fruit Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m., near California Avenue.
For reasons under investigation, the male driver of Polaris RZR UTV lost control of the vehicle and crashed. First responders took a female passenger to a nearby hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police identified the deceased woman as 22-year-old Esperanza Nunez.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the police are working to determine whether alcohol or drugs play a role in the incident.
