62-Year-Old Off-Duty Deputy Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Richmond Avenue
HOUSTON, TX (February 14, 2024) – Saturday night, Ronald Bates was fatally struck in a car accident on Travis Street.
Authorities responded to the scene around 9:45 p.m., near Richmond Avenue.
For reasons under investigation, Bates was operating a vehicle and lost control in the area. Paramedics arrived and transported 62-year-old Bates to Ben Taub Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
