Mother and Daughter Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Crash near Mile Marker 175

HOWARD COUNTY, TX (February 13, 2024) – Saturday, Brandi McDaniel and Hannah McDaniel were killed in a solo-car crash on Interstate 20.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Mile Marker 175.

Per reports, a 58-year-old Arlington man was driving a Honda HR-V east, and struck a guardrail on the inside shoulder. Upon impact, the guardrail punctured the vehicle, injuring all occupants.

Authorities said, Senior Pastor Mark McDaniel of the New Hope Community Church was driving the vehicle and had minor injuries. The backseat passenger, identified as 17-year-old Hannah, died at the scene.

Paramedics took the front-seat passenger, 51-year-old Brandi, to a hospital in Big Spring where she eventually succumbed to her injuries.
