Two Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Sunset Road

WASHINGTON, TX (February 13, 2024) – Monday afternoon, Anita Goodrich and another person were killed in a semi-truck crash on Highway 290.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 1:45 p.m., near Sunset Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Officers say the driver of a 2004 Ford Expedition was heading east when the vehicle hydroplaned. The Ford then crossed into oncoming traffic where it hit a westbound 2013 Peterbilt 18-wheeler.

Medical personnel pronounced 59-year-old Goodrich, of Brenham and one other occupant dead at the scene. Paramedics also took the semi-truck driver to a hospital with minor wounds.
