Two Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Crash near Normandie Avenue

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (February 6, 2024) – Early Friday morning, two victims were killed in a high-speed crash on 105 Freeway. 

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Crenshaw and Normandie Avenue.

Reports indicate that a vehicle that was possibly involved in street racing drifted across lanes at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment before striking a tree and catching fire.

First responders declared both occupants inside the vehicle dead at the scene. However, their identities currently remain undisclosed to the public. 

In the end, Los Angeles Officials closed multiple eastbound lanes of 105 Freeway as crews cleared the scene. Those who witnessed the fatal high-speed crash are encouraged to contact the LAPD as soon as possible. Once available, further details will be provided.
