Two Injured in Car Collision near Fir Avenue

CLOVIS, CA (February 8, 2024) – Friday morning, two people sustained injuries following a vehicle vs building collision on Villa Avenue.

Police responded to the incident around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Villa and Fir Avenues in the city of Clovis. 

Upon arrival, the officers learned that a vehicle crashed into a building for unknown reasons. The impact of the crash disrupted a large gas line, resulting in a major gas leak in the area. 

Emergency responders ordered the people inside the building to shelter in place. Meanwhile, they transported both drivers involved to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. 

At this time, the reasons behind the collision remain under investigation. Clovis officials closed down Villa Avenue, between Herndon and Alluvial as crews cleared the scene. 

Additionally,  the PG&E was also called out to the scene to shut off the gas. No further details regarding the two-vehicle crash have been released to the public.
