Two Pronounced Dead after Pickup-Truck Accident near Wible Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 29, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, Rodolfo Monarrez and one other were killed in a solo-car crash on Highway 99.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:07 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Wible Road.
Per reports, the driver of a Ford truck veered off the road for reasons unknown. As a result, the truck struck a metal guard rail before slamming into a concrete pillar.
Responding personnel declared the driver and the passenger inside the vehicle deceased at the scene. Authorities later identified one of the victims as 18-year-old Rodolfo Pulgarin Monarrez.
The relatives of Monarrez claimed that the two victims were welders who were out to pick up some equipment from the office. A GoFundMe page was created for Monarrez in order to help his family with funeral expenses.
