Jerry Dean Mercer Killed, Joshua Rodriguez Involved in Pedestrian Accident on FM 1264 [Lubbock, TX]
38-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near CR 6100
LUBBOCK, TX (January 29, 2024) – Late Wednesday evening, a pedestrian accident on FM 1264 claimed the life of Jerry Dean Mercer.
Police received calls in the area just before 10:10 p.m., near CR 6100 on January 10th.
Investigators say 36-year-old Joshua Adam Rodriguez was driving north on FM 1264 and struck Mercer as he was crossing the road. First responders located the pedestrian down on the road upon arrival.
Medics later took 38-year-old Mercer to University Medical Center where he passed away on Friday, January 12th.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
