62-Year-Old Female Driver Pronounced Dead after Rear-End Collision near Texas Grand Road

WALKER COUNTY, TX (January 26, 2024) – Early Saturday evening, Sandra Kay Bear was killed in a 2-car accident on FM 1374.

Authorities responded to the scene around 6:15 p.m., near Texas Grand Road on January 13th.

Officers say 21-year-old Adria Nicole Taylor was driving a Kia Optima at high rates of speed and rear-ended a 2014 Honda CRV, driven by Bear.

Paramedics arrived and transported Taylor to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 62-year-old Bear, of Huntsville dead at the scene.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
