17-Year-Old Girl Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Accident near Shirk Street

VISALIA, CA (January 25, 2024) – Saturday night, a teenage girl was fatally struck in a bicycle collision on Riggin Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene around 8:50 p.m., just west of Shirk Street.

Per reports, the driver of an eastbound vehicle struck a teenage girl who was riding her bicycle along the eastbound lanes. Responding medical personnel transported the 17-year-old girl to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities said the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.
