56-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Accident near Downtown Winnemucca

WINNEMUCCA, NV (January 31, 2024) – Early Thursday morning, William Winters was killed in a solo-car collision on US Highway 95.

Officers responded around 3:30 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway about five miles north of downtown on January 11th.

According to reports, 56-year-old Winters was driving a red 2000 Ford F-350 south and lost control. As a result, the vehicle veered into the northbound lanes before overturning on the shoulder.

First responders located the damaged vehicle in a nearby embankment. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced Winters dead at the scene.

Police added that the road was icy that time. An active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
