Angela Hays Arrested after Fatal Crash on Interstate 5 [Carlsbad, CA]
Three-Vehicle Collision Near McClellan-Palomar Airport Left 2 Dead
CARLSBAD, CA (January 18, 2024) – Saturday morning, police arrested Angela Hays following a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
The CHP responded to the fatal collision around 4:40 a.m. along the southbound lanes of the freeway, near McClellan-Palomar Airport.
According to the investigators, a speeding gray Hyundai sedan collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to roll over in the left-hand lanes, where it was hit by a white Nissan Altima.
Unfortunately, the female passenger of the Jeep died at the scene while the male driver succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Nissan was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested the Hyundai driver, identified as 28-year-old Angela Hays of Corona, for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Authorities booked Hays to Vista Detention Facility.
