Man Fatally Struck by SUV in Pedestrian Collision near South Fair Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (January 16, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, one man was killed in a pedestrian accident on East Ajo Way.

Officers responded to the scene just before 4:00 a.m., near South Fair Avenue on January 6th.

According to reports, the driver of an eastbound 2013 Ford Edge struck a man in a wheelchair near the intersection. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene.

Investigators say the man was crossing mid-block outside of a marked crosswalk.
