79-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Real Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 16, 2024) – Wednesday night, Gloria Provencio was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on Stockdale Highway.

The incident occurred around 11:33 p.m., at the 3800 block of Stockdale Highway near Real Road.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle struck a woman who was walking in the westbound lanes of the freeway. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.

Medical personnel arrived and declared the female pedestrian deceased at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 79-year-old Gloria Provencio.
