56-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies in Vehicle Accident near Decatur Boulevard

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 16, 2024) – On Monday morning, one person died in a pedestrian crash near Blue Diamond Road and Decatur Boulevard.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the incident happened around 9:00 p.m., January 8th, involving a 56-year-old male pedestrian and a vehicle.

Furthermore, an investigation showed that the man attempted to cross southbound Blue Diamond Road when he failed to give way to the vehicle.

As a result, the vehicle struck him causing him to suffer deadly injuries. Paramedics arrived at the scene and said that the man was beyond life-saving measure, he was pronounced dead later on.

Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and he was the one who called the authorities. Impairment was not suspected as a factor in the crash near Blue Diamond.

Consequently, the troopers blocked the area and it was later reopened by 1:00 p.m. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has yet to release the identity of the victim. Authorities will release additional information as it becomes available
