Violent Motorcycle Crash near Railroad Canyon Road Left One Critically Injured
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (February 7, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a motorcycle/SUV collision on Interstate 15 sent one person to a hospital.
The collision occurred around 1:25 p.m. along the northbound lanes of the freeway, north of Railroad Canyon Road.
According to police, a 2022 BMW S1000 motorcycle was splitting lanes while traveling over 100 mph. Consequently, the rider lost control of his motorcycle and rear-ended a 2016 Hyundai Elantra.
The impact of the crash caused the rider to be thrown off his vehicle and into the back of a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Meanwhile, the BMW motorcycle hit a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck before crashing into the center median.
Responding personnel transported the rider to Inland Valley Hospital in Wildomar for treatment of significant injuries. Meanwhile, the occupants inside the other vehicles remained unharmed.
At this time, the CHP Temecula Area office continues to investigate the crash.
