Four Hospitalized after Head-On Collision near Blewett Pass
CHELAN COUNTY, WA (January 12, 2024) – Monday, a head-on crash injured Marnie Gonzalez, Roneo Gonzalez, Charlie Megia, and Rhodora Megia.
Authorities responded to the scene on State Route 97 around 1:45 p.m., near Blewett Pass on January 8th.
Per reports, 61-year-old Dorel Buse was driving a semi-truck and made an illegal pass in the southbound lanes in a no-pass zone. As a result, the semi-truck collided head-on with a passenger vehicle occupied by four people.
Paramedics transported 56-year-old Marnie, 58-year-old Roneo, 64-year-old Charlie, and 64-year-old Rhodora to Confluence Health Hospital Central Campus. Meanwhile, Buse remained uninjured.
Following preliminary duties, officers cited Buse for improper passing. In addition, crews listed weather conditions as a factor. Once available, further details will be provided.
