Man Critically Injured in DUI Collision near Dobbins Road
PHOENIX, AZ (January 10, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Jesten Calderon Jimenez was arrested following a DUI collision on Central Avenue.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 1:00 a.m., near Dobbins Road on January 6th.
Officers say 26-year-old Jimenez was heading east on Dobbins and attempted to make a left turn. Jimenez then attempted to pass another vehicle on the left side, and struck it.
Paramedics arrived and transported a male driver to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Although, crews have not yet released his identity.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that Jimenez was intoxicated. As a result, police arrested Jimenez and charged him with aggravated assault and DUI.
The condition of the male victim was not yet updated at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
