55-Year-Old Woman Arrested after Pedestrian Crash Near Ohio Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (January 10, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, a hit-and-run collision on Pacific Coast Highway took the life of Lamar Maxwell.

The fatal collision happened around 5:25 a.m. along PCH, near Ohio Avenue.

According to the police, a vehicle hit a man walking in the eastbound lanes for unknown reasons. However, the driver did not pull over and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Unfortunately, the first responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities identified the deceased victim as 65-year-old Lamar Maxwell.

Later, the suspect turned herself in at the Signal Hill Police Department. 55-year-old Cher Srey of Long Beach was taken to Long Beach City Jail for suspected hit-and-run.
