Bus vs. Pedestrian Crash on 156th Street Resulted in One Fatality
LYNNWOOD, WA (January 23, 2024) – On Wednesday morning, one person died following a bus accident on State Route 99.
The incident happened in the southbound lanes of the highway just north of 156th Street Southwest, just after 6:00 a.m., December 20th.
According to Officer Kelsey Harding, the deadly incident involved a 34-year-old male pedestrian and a Community Transit bus.
Furthermore, Harding stated that the man was in the middle of the highway wearing dark clothing and the bus driver was unable to see the man.
Consequently, the man was struck and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released by the officials, and next of kin were notified.
Moreover, the bus driver pulled over and his passengers took off. The driver cooperated with the responding authorities.
In addition, the troopers blocked the southbound lanes for two hours before it was reopened. Further investigation is currently underway.
