26-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Rollover Accident near Soneto Lane

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 31, 2024) – Friday, Elkin Meja C. was involved and a man was killed in a rollover collision on South Durango Drive.

Authorities responded to the scene just before 10:30 a.m., near Soneto Lane on December 29th.

Reports indicate that the 26-year-old male driver of a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder made a left turn onto northbound Durango Drive.

There, the Nissan turned into the path of a 2011 Hyundai Genesis, driven by 19-year-old Elkin Meja C.

Upon impact, the Hyundai overturned onto the road. Paramedics transported a 30-year-old female passenger from inside the Nissan, together with Elkin and his two passengers, to a hospital with minor wounds.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced a 26-year-old man dead. Although, police have not yet released his identity.

During preliminary duties, Elkin did not display signs of impairment. At this time, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is handling further investigation.
