Solo-Vehicle Accident near Lake Don Pedro Kills 17-Year-Old Girl
LA GRANGE, CA (January 2, 2024) – Tuesday evening, a single-vehicle crash on Highway 132 claimed the life of Lydia Koelzow.
The deadly accident happened around 7:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway, just west of Zarzamora Street.
According to the police, a 2008 Subaru Outback traveling at a high rate of speed failed to negotiate a turn.
As a result, the Subaru went off-road and crashed into a tree, leaving both occupants with severe injuries.
Unfortunately, the female passenger, identified as 17-year-old Lydia Koelzow of Sonora, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the driver, 20-year-old Sebastian Pendergast of La Grange, to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
