61-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Tehachapi Boulevard
CALIFORNIA CITY, CA (December 28, 2023) – Sunday morning, Sergio Banks-Jacobo was involved in a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 58.
Police responded to the scene around 1:13 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Tehachapi Boulevard.
Officers say the driver of a tractor-trailer was unable to avoid striking a man who was standing in the road.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the 61-year-old male pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.
Meanwhile, the driver later identified as 23-year-old Banks-Jacobo of Fresno, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
