Two-Vehicle Collision near Gates Road Left 2 Fatalities

MODESTO, CA (December 28, 2023) – Wednesday evening, a fiery crash on Highway 132 claimed the lives of two people and left two others hospitalized. 

The deadly collision happened around 5:44 p.m. along State Route 132, just west of Gates Road. 

Based on the CHP report, an eastbound Infiniti sedan veered into the westbound lanes and collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Suburban. 

Consequently, the Infiniti caught on fire, leaving both the driver and the passenger with fatal injuries. The identities of the deceased victim have not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the two other people inside the Suburban to a hospital for major injuries. 

The California Highway Patrol prompted road closures on Highway 132 between Gates and River roads for investigation.
