15-Year-Old Boy Killed in Pedestrian Accident Near Craner Avenue

SUN VALLEY, CA (December 19, 2023) – A fatal car crash on Strathern Street late Saturday evening led to the arrest of Joseph Delgado.

The deadly incident happened around 11:00 p.m. in the eastbound Strathern St., near Craner Avenue. 

According to the police, a southbound Cadillac sedan lost control for unknown reasons and crashed into several parked vehicles. 

The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to hit a teenage boy standing near the roadway. 

Responding medical personnel transported the 15-year-old boy to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. However, the identity of the deceased teenager remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

Additionally, a man walking on the sidewalk at the time of the crash was evaluated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. 

After the crash, the driver exited his vehicle and attempted to flee the scene. Police arrested 22-year-old Joseph Delgado of North Hills for vehicular manslaughter.
