60-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near Hobson Road

SANTA PAULA, CA (December 18, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, John Sellers was fatally struck in a 2-car accident on Highway 126.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:34 a.m., just west of Hibson Road.

Per reports, the driver of a silver 2008 Toyota Prius entered the eastbound lanes from a private driveway. There, the Toyota struck a 2017 Jeep Compass.

Emergency personnel extricated and transported the male Jeep driver to Ventura County Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities later identified the deceased man as 60-year-old John Sellers of Bakersfield. 

During preliminary duties, the 31-year-old male Prius driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Those who witnessed the crash are encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol at 805-662-2640.
