22-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near West Tompkins Avenue
LAS VEGAS, NV (December 19, 2023) – Saturday, Shyayn Bass was killed and Ali Aponte was arrested after a DUI accident on Dean Martin Drive.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m., near West Tompkins Avenue on December 2nd.
Per reports, the driver of a southbound 2003 Honda Odyssey veered into the northbound lanes. There, the Honda collided head-on with an oncoming 2017 Toyota Yaris.
The 22-year-old driver of the Toyota, later identified as Bass, suffered critical injuries and first responders immediately transported her to UMC Trauma.
Meanwhile, the 50-year-old driver of the Honda, Ali Brandy Aponte, and the 26-year-old passenger were transported to UMC for precaution. Authorities arrested Aponte with charges of DUI and reckless driving resulting in substantial bodily harm.
On December 12th, authorities received a report that Bass passed away due to the severity of her injuries.
