3 Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash near Old Woman Springs Road
PALM SPRINGS, CA (December 11, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Chance Sistrunk, Christina Layden, and another were hurt in a head-on crash.
Around 6:48 a.m., police responded to the scene on the northbound lanes of State Route 247 near Old Woman Springs Road.
Investigators say the driver of a 2013 Mini Cooper was heading south on the freeway and crossed the double yellow lines for reasons unknown.
Consequently, the Mini Cooper collided head-on with an oncoming 2023 Chevrolet Malibu. Responding medical personnel transported all three patients to Desert Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
Authorities later identified the occupants of the Malibu as Chance Sistrunk and Christina Layden. Both were 27-year-old from McAlester, Oklahoma.
Meanwhile, the Mini Cooper driver was identified as 59-year-old Anna Rodriguez of Desert Hot Springs.
