Two Passengers Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Crash near Farm-to-Market 39

LEON COUNTY, TX (December 12, 2023) – Monday morning, Lane Wireman and Seth Brown died in a tractor-trailer collision on U.S. 79.

Dispatchers responded to the scene around 6:00 p.m., near Farm-Market 39 on November 27th.

Investigators say the driver of a 2016 Ford Transit van entered the intersection and failed to yield the right-of-way. As a result, the van crashed into a southbound tractor-trailer.

The impact ejected multiple occupants from inside the van onto the road, causing life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of their condition, medics later pronounced 24-year-old Wireman and 25-year-old Brown dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported three other occupants from inside the van to various hospitals for further treatment.

Moreover, the driver of the tractor did not obtain any injuries from the collision. Further investigation is still underway, and an update will be released once available.
