15-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Car Crash near Bammel North Houston Road
HARRIS COUNTY, TX (December 6, 2023) – Saturday morning, Stephaun Fair was killed in a pursuit accident on Veterans Memorial Drive.
The incident occurred around 12:43 a.m., near Bammel North Houston Road.
Police first located the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu speeding near Kuykenhahl and Rankin Road. When officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver failed to comply and the pursuit began.
Ultimately, the chase ended after the Chevrolet collided with a Toyota Camry at the Veterans Memorial Drive and Bammel North Houston Road intersection. The impact of the collision caused the Chevy driver to lose control and crash into a pickup truck.
One of the passengers inside the Chevy Malibu, identified as 15-year-old Stephaun Fair, died at the scene.
Three other people inside the suspect’s vehicle and one other from a different vehicle were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Authorities later booked the Chevrolet driver into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center for felony murder and evading in a motor vehicle. At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is underway.
