Jose Luis Zuno Dead Following Truck Crash on Hartnell Avenue [Redding, CA]
Two-Truck Collision near Churn Creek Intersection Kills 78-Year-Old Redding Man
REDDING, CA (December 4, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a pickup truck collision on Hartnell Avenue took the life of Jose Luis Zuno.
According to the investigators, an eastbound 2005 Chevy Silverado collided with a 1999 Silverado pulling out of a public driveway.
Emergency personnel extricated the 1999 Silverado driver and transported him to a Mercy Medical Center where he later died.
Later, the Shasta County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased driver as 78-year-old Jose Luis Zuno of Redding.
Following the crash, police arrested the 2005 Silverado driver, 31-year-old Daveiontay Ivon Norwood of Redding, for DUI. Reports said the passenger of Norwood exited his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Norwood was booked into Shasta County Jail for multiple charges, including probation violation with bail set to $100,000.
Redding Officials are asking those with additional information about the fatal crash to contact the department’s Traffic Unit at 530- 225-4200.
