Indio Man Dies in Fiery Crash near Desert Hills Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility 

BANNING, CA (November 28, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, Bernardo Fajardo was killed in a rear-end big-rig crash on Interstate 10.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m., on the westbound lanes near the Desert Hills Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility.

For reasons unknown, the driver of a vehicle rear-ended a big-rig and immediately caught fire. However, further circumstances leading up remain unclear.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the driver that hit the big-rig dead at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner later identified the deceased victim as 22-year-old Fajardo, of Indio.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Banning Officials will provide more information once available.
