Humberto Flores Arrested, Two Pronounced Dead after DUI Crash near Tustin Street
ORANGE, CA (November 28, 2023) – A hit-and-run collision on Shattuck Place on Thanksgiving night killed Manuel Ortiz and one other person.
The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m., at the 700 block of North Shattuck Place near Tustin Street and East Mayfair Avenue.
Per reports, the driver of a southbound Ford F-250 crashed into a parked Chevrolet Silverado. Upon impact, the Ford was pushed into two nearby pedestrians.
Responding medical personnel pronounced two victims dead at the scene. Relatives identified one of the victims as Manuel Ortiz.
Meanwhile, authorities managed to track and arrest the driver who ran away from the scene. 26-year-old Humberto Lopez Flores is currently facing multiple charges including vehicular manslaughter.
Ortiz’s family started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses. Those who witnessed the crash are encouraged to contact Detective A. Rocha at 714-744-7342.
