Male Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Accident near La Mesa Drive 

SALINAS, CA (November 28, 2023) – Monday evening, a man was fatally struck in a bicycle collision on East Blanco Road in South Salinas. 

The crash happened around 8:10 p.m., in the area of E. Blanco Road and La Mesa Drive. 

According to the CHP, a Jeep Compass and a Mercedes sedan hit the bicyclist for reasons under investigation. 

At around 8:12 p.m., medical responders declared the cyclist dead at the scene. However, their name remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

It was unclear if the two drivers involved stayed at the site of the incident. At this time, police have made no arrests. Additionally, the street was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information about the fatal Blaco Road collision to come forward.
