68-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Pedestrian Collision near Victor Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 28, 2023) – Early Saturday evening, Raymond Robinson was hospitalized after a pedestrian crash on Olive Drive.
The collision happened around 6:12 p.m., at the intersection of Olive Drive and Victor Street.
According to reports, the driver of a 2008 Honda hit a man who was crossing the eastbound lanes of Olive while traveling 35 to 40 mph.
Investigators said the man was wearing dark clothing and the driver failed to avoid the victim.
Responding medical personnel transported the pedestrian – 68-year-old Raymond Robinson – to Kern Medical for treatment. Robinson sustained significant injuries from the incident.
The involved driver, identified as 42-year-old April Nick, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Following preliminary duties, CHP does not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the incident. At around 7:18 a.m., Bakersfield Officials reopened the roadway.
