One Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Menchaca Road

AUSTIN, TX (November 22, 2023) – A head-on crash on Ben White Boulevard early Monday morning left one person dead and two others injured. 

The deadly collision happened shortly after midnight at the westbound 1100 block of West Ben White Boulevard, between south 1st Street and Menchecca Road. 

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. However, the responding officials declared one adult dead at the scene. 

The identity of the deceased person remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. 

Meanwhile, responding medical personnel transported two other patients to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. Both patients sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

Austin Officials closed down the westbound lanes of the highway near South 1st Street as crews cleared the scene. However, the roadway has since been reopened.
