Santa Rosa Man Killed after Two-Vehicle Collision near Stipp Lane
UKIAH, CA (November 22, 2023) – Thursday morning, one man was fatally injured in a head-on accident on Highway 253.
The collision happened at around 10:58 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway, just east of Stipp Lane.
According to CHP, the 2020 Honda Civic going west veered into the opposing traffic lanes for unknown reasons.
Consequently, the Honda collided head-on with a 2020 Ford Ranger traveling east at about 50 mph.
Responding emergency personnel declared the Honda Civic driver dead at the scene. He was only identified by the authorities as a 47-year-old man from Santa Rosa.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 79-year-old Ford driver from Ukiah to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley for moderate injuries. Additionally, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal Highway 253 head-on crash.
