2 Dead in Solo-Vehicle Crash in Tustin U.S. Bank Branch

TUSTIN, CA (November 9, 2023) – A fiery crash on Newport Avenue early Monday morning claimed the lives of a male driver and a female passenger.

Around 3:00 a.m., an officer spotted an eastbound Chevrolet Camaro racing along First and Yorba Streets.

According to the officer, they failed to initiate a pursuit because the Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed.

Subsequently, officials received reports of the solo-vehicle crash at the 13300 block of Newport Avenue.

The responding officers learned that the Camaro crashed into a U.S. Bank branch near the intersection of Newport and East First Street.

Unfortunately, the first responders declared the male driver and his female passenger dead at the scene. At this time, their identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from their next of kin.

The Tustin Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fiery crash.
