DUI Driver Arrested Following Pedestrian Crash near Shields Avenue
FRESNO, CA (November 10, 2023) – Thursday night, police arrested a driver after a hit-and-run crash on Cedar Avenue that sent one person to a hospital.
The collision happened around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar and Shields Avenues.
According to a witness, an SUV hit a pedestrian who had stepped out into the road from the center median. However, the SUV did not stop to help the victim and continued driving in the same direction.
The responding medical personnel transported the male pedestrian to a hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Upon further investigation, authorities located the suspect’s vehicle and arrested the driver. Police booked the unidentified 20-year-old to Fresno County Jail for felony hit-and-run and DUI.
