Pedestrian-Auto Collision in Lincoln Park Resulted in Fatality
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 9, 2023) – Police are searching for a driver Saturday evening following a fatal hit-and-run on 47th Street.
The deadly collision happened around 7:13 p.m. at the 300 block of 47th Street in the neighborhood of Lincoln Park.
Based on the initial investigation, a northbound white Ford F-250 pickup hit the pedestrian walking in a southerly direction.
However, the Ford driver did not pull over to render aid to the victim and fled the scene going north on 47th Street.
The first responders transported the man to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, his identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
A portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the street has since been reopened to the public.
