Kevin Eugene Sallas Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision on State Highway 92 [Hawley, TX]
49-Year-Old Man Died after Car Crash on FM 1661
HAWLEY, TX (November 6, 2023) – Kevin Eugene Sallas was killed in a vehicle collision on State Highway 92, Monday evening.
Around 6 p.m. on October 23rd, on State Highway 92 near the intersection with FM 1661, the accident happened.
According to TDPS, a pickup truck heading south failed to yield to a semi-truck heading west and then the 18-wheeler truck hit the pickup.
Police identified the pickup truck driver as 49-year-old Kevlin Eugene Sallas and the 18-wheeler truck driver as 38-year-old Richard Kencade Jones. Sallas died at the scene while Jones sustained non-life-threatening wounds.
A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Furthermore, investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the incident.
