Anthony Gomez Dies in Multi-Car Accident on 405 Freeway [Van Nuys, CA]
28-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Sherman Way
VAN NUYS, CA (November 2, 2023) – Early Monday morning, Anthony Gomez died in a multi-car accident on 405 Freeway.
The incident occurred around 4:38 a.m., on the northbound lanes just north of Sherman Way on October 30th.
Per reports, the driver of a vehicle lost control and spun out before crashing into the center divider and coming to rest facing the wrong-way. Shortly after, a passing red vehicle and a truck also struck the wrong-way car.
First responders pronounced one driver, 28-year-old Anthony Gomez, dead on scene. Meanwhile, the occupants inside the red car and truck sustained minor injuries.
Emergency crews shut down several lanes for a few hours during investigation and cleanup. An active inquiry is ongoing and Van Nuys official will release more information once available.
