47-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident near Georgia Pacific Way

OROVILLE, CA (November 2, 2023) – Wednesday, one man was killed, and Shawn Pelfrey was involved in a pedestrian accident on State Route 70.

Dispatchers responded to the scene around 10:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway, just north of Georgia Pacific Way on October 25th.

Per reports, Pelfrey was driving a Ford F-150 at about 55 mph when a male pedestrian stepped onto the road and crossed in front of the vehicle. There, the Ford struck the pedestrian as it was unable to move in time.

Investigators also say the 47-year-old male pedestrian was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the severely injured victim dead at the scene.
