Two-Vehicle Collision Near Borrego Springs Road Left 20-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dead
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 1, 2023) – Saturday morning, a motorcycle collision on a dirt road in Ocotillo Wells took the life of one person.
The fatal crash happened around 10:10 a.m. along a private dirt road, just south of State Route 78 and east of Borrego Springs Road.
Based on the CHP report, a northbound 2002 Yamaha WR250 motorcycle was attempting to enter a dirt road from a private residence.
However, the Yamaha rider failed to see an oncoming 2006 KTM motorcycle traveling westbound on the same road. Investigators said the two motorcycles collided and ejected both of the riders upon impact.
Unfortunately, the first responders declared the male KTM rider from Carlsbad dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the 20-year-old male Yamaha driver to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
At this time, the identities of the people involved in the collision remain undisclosed to the public. San Diego Officials continue to investigate the fatal motorcycle crash.
