Raul Ortiz Hospitalized, Man Dead after Semi-Truck Crash on Silverado Trail [Napa, CA]
1 Killed, 1 Injured Two-Vehicle Collision near Oak Knoll Avenue
NAPA, CA (November 1, 2023) – Monday morning, Raul Ortiz was hurt and another man was killed in a semi-truck crash on Silverado Trail.
Emergency units responded to the incident around 9:25 a.m. at the 5300 block of Silverado Trail, north of Oak Knoll Avenue.
According to CHP, a 1995 Toyota sedan traveling south on Silverado crossed into the center line for unknown reasons.
As a result, the Toyota collided head-on with a northbound three-axle 2014 Kenworth hauling a flatbed trailer.
Responding medical personnel transported the Toyota driver to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical where he died. At this time, police only identified the deceased driver as a 57-year-old man from Napa.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed his passenger, 31-year-old Raul Ortiz, to the same hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. 36-year-old Mauricio Caballero of Mendota who was driving the truck was unharmed from the collision.
In the end, Napa officials closed Silverado Trail from Yountville Cross Road to Oak Knoll Ave as crews cleared the scene.
