Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash on Post Street [San Francisco, CA]
Auto-Pedestrian Collision Near Leavenworth Street Left One Fatality
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 1, 2023) – Late Saturday morning, a pedestrian was fatally injured following a two-vehicle crash on Post Street.
Police responded to the collision around 11:10 a.m. at the 800 block of Post Street, near Leavenworth and Hyde Streets.
Based on an eyewitness account, a white BMW ran past a red light and collided with a black Audi SUV. The impact of the crash caused the BMW to spin out of control and hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk.
Unfortunately, the first responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. However, the deceased victim’s identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from their next of kin.
Authorities arrested the BMW driver, although, no charges have been issued yet, the San Francisco Police Department said.
