16-Year-Old Teen Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision on FM 1423

EDINBURG, TX (October 27, 2023) – Friday night, Jacob Morales was killed in a pedestrian accident on Anderson Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:00 p.m., near FM 1423 just south of Anderson Road on October 20th.

Per reports, the driver of a white Chevrolet Silverado was heading north and struck Morales who was walking on the northbound lane. A black GMC Sierra traveling behind the Chevrolet also ran over the pedestrian who was down on the road.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced 16-year-old Morales, of Donna dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Investigators say Morales was wearing dark-colored clothing in an area that was not well lit.

Following preliminary duties, no charges were filed. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
